Senior Supervising Sound Designer

Job description

Sound Lab a Keywords Studio is looking for  a Senior Supervising Sound Designer for our gaming projects. They will work as part of the creative team responsible for crafting interactive audio experiences. Working closely with both internal and external audio team members, this person will be the quality owner overseeing multiple projects and supervising multiple sound design, implementation and music team members. The ideal candidate brings excellent team management skills, experience working with middleware and implementation on multiple shipped titles. This role involves combining a deep understanding of sound design, middleware integration, audio signal flow, creative problem solving and execution in a team-centric environment.

Work Location: Prefer on Location in Burbank, CA, but could be remote for the right candidate.

The day-to-day responsibilities involve:

Key participant in the team leading client presentations and bidding processes

Audio quality owner over multiple projects

Able to  productively lead a team, organize work flow, delegate tasks and communicate effectively

Able to both give and take direction and incorporate feedback

Sound design creation and integration of game ready assets using middleware and custom audio tools

Design and optimization of in-game interactive audio systems

Tuning of in game parameters, DSP and delivering assets to creative and technical specifications

Balance quality with efficiency while managing timely deliveries for themselves and others on the team in a fast-paced production environment

Requirements

Multiple years of experience in interactive audio creation

Minimum 3 AAA  titles shipped

Expert level experience with integration and mixing techniques using middleware and/or game engines

Experience processing sounds into game ready content using a DAW, , must be proficient on Pro Tools

Expert level understanding of Wwise and Unreal

Expert level understanding of audio signal flow, DSP and terminology

Self-motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Cultivated aesthetic sense and keen ear for detail

Ability to quickly learn new/proprietary software

Preferred Skills and Experience

     Previous experience in a senior lead audio role

     Creative and technical skill in interactive game audio production
