Job Description
Gameloft’s Paris Studio is seeking an experienced Music Composer who has a deep understanding of music composition and production, particularly in the context of video games. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating dynamic, immersive, and memorable music that enhances the player's experience. This role will require close collaboration with our Sound Designer and development teams to ensure that the music aligns with the overall vision of the game. Reporting to the Studio Manager, the successful candidate will have to create music for the games' portfolio of the Paris Studio.
What will you do:
- Composing music that is in keeping with the intent and style defined in conjunction with the audio director, and in collaboration with the game’s creative directors
- Producing realistic orchestral simulations
- Producing and mixing your music, in keeping with high standards of quality
- Collaborate with developers to integrate music into the game using appropriate middleware tools (e.g., Wwise, FMOD)
- Integrating music files and systems into audio middleware editors
- Work closely with the Sound Designer to ensure music and sound effects are cohesive and enhance the gameplay experience.
- Contribute to the overall creative vision of the game by bringing innovative ideas and approaches to the music composition process
- Following up on projects and their needs, and maintaining regular communication with the development teams, the audio director and the audio manager
Qualifications
What your skills are :
- Professional experience composing orchestral music (film, video games, television, etc.) or a degree in composition/arrangement studies (from a university, conservatory, music school, etc.)
- Able to produce realistic orchestral simulations using virtual instrument libraries
- Good command of orchestral writing (small- and medium-sized ensembles, symphony orchestras)
- Able to adapt to multiple styles of music and different musical intents according to the needs of the games; in particular, able to arrange songs for various ensembles
- Able to work in a collaborative environment
