Job description

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Dialogue Designer to join our team at Embark Studios. If you have a background in audio production, particularly with dialogue in video games, and thrive in collaborative environments, we’d love to hear from you. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Narrative team, helping to bring our games to life through immersive audio experiences. You’ll play a key role in everything from deciding on features and scripts to implementing dialogue in our games.

Example of responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including Narrative, Audio, and Localization, to create a cohesive audio experience
  • Together with the rest of the VO Team prepare casting, scripts, and recordings for making voice over clones using AI.
  • Coordinate with the Localization team.
  • Manage the creation and implementation of dialogue.
  • Implement VO features with our custom tools and pipeline in Unreal using Angelscript.
  • Drive innovation for game experiences and development.

It would be awesome if you have

  • Strong understanding of voice-over production workflows in game development.
  • Experience and/or understanding of code, ideally Angelscript, C++ or C#.
  • Experience with audio processing basics (e.g., EQ, compressors)
  • Excellent communication with the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Reaper)
  • Familiarity with localization processes for game dialogue.
  • Knowledge of Text-To-Speech technologies and their application in game development.
  • Ability to manage large scale projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for creating immersive audio experiences in games.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine is beneficial.

Nice to have...

  • Experience with directing and supervising voice-over recording sessions, ensuring high-quality performances.
